The Problem
India has more than ten million walking professionals. Doctors who stand through surgeries. Teachers who pace classrooms. Government officers who spend their working lives on their feet.
Every premium shoe brand in India has overlooked them. The formal shoes available were designed for appearances — not for movement, not for endurance, not for the work these people actually do.
The result is a daily compromise that has quietly become normal. It should not be.
The stiffness sets in. Pressure builds across the forefoot. You have done nothing wrong — the shoe was simply not built for what you ask it to do.
And the ones that feel right do not look professional. The industry has maintained this as given for decades. It is not inevitable. It is a choice they made. We made a different one.
A pair every year. Feet that ache by evening. Quiet discomfort borne as the cost of looking the part. This is the problem DOKOH™ was built to end.
Why DOKOH
DOKOH™ takes its name from Dakoha — a village in Punjab, near Jalandhar — where the founder's roots lie. Do means two. Koh means miles. Every pair is built so you never feel those miles.
The brand exists because the person walking professional India needed a shoe that was not yet being made. Not a lifestyle product. Not a fashion statement. A shoe built for how people actually work.
We limited the founding edition to 240 pairs. Not as a marketing device. Because craft at this level does not scale without compromise — and compromise is what we are here to end.
The work of walking professionals is essential, visible, and physically demanding. DOKOH™ exists to honour that work — not with words, but with what goes inside the shoe.
Full grain leather. Thoughtful construction. A comfort system built to perform — and built to be replaced when it has done its work, long before the shoe itself has failed.
Not a feature. Not a selling point. A conviction: that a professional who is physically comfortable stands taller, thinks more clearly, and does better work.
A village name on a premium shoe. Dakoha is not decoration. It is accountability — to the ground these shoes were built from, and the people they are built for.

Founding Edition
The founding edition of DOKOH™ is limited to 240 pairs. This is a function of how we build — with care and attention that volume production cannot accommodate and does not reward.
Full grain leather upper. AdaptForm™ adaptive insole system. Two colourways selected for the full range of Indian institutional contexts.
Our Origin
DOKOH™ was not built in a design studio. It was built by someone who works 12-hour shifts in a physically demanding environment and understands — from direct experience — what it costs a professional to spend a full day on their feet in the wrong shoes.
That frustration became a question: why has no one built a formal shoe for people who actually walk for a living? Not a lifestyle product. Not a fashion statement. A shoe designed around the real demands of professional life in India — the hard floors, the long hours, the heat, and the expectation of looking correct at hour twelve as much as hour one.
The answer, apparently, was that it is difficult and expensive to do well. So it had not been done. DOKOH™ is the attempt to do it anyway. Long-term, the plan is a manufacturing base in Punjab — built on fair wages and honest craft. That future is built one founding pair at a time.
Made for those who cannot afford to think about their feet while they are working.
